Akpan Secretly Married Another Wife, But Then She Found Out

Eno just remembered the ugly encounter she had in her first year
with her former boyfriend, Inyang Okon Inyang, who jilted her, and treated her with disdain.
During the October rush three years ago, she had fallen in love with Inyang Okon Inyang, who had won her heart, after an encounter.
They started moving together for a while, until one night when there was a film show.
Surprisingly, Inyang Okon Inyang had given reasons why he would not be attending the film show. He said he had an urgent message from home, and needed to know why he was required at home.
Eno had believed him whole heartedly, only to catch him with another girl at the  film show. Inyang Okon Inyang was holding hands with his new-found love, that when he saw Eno he acted as if Eno never existed.
She had quickly rushed to him, shouting his name. But Inyang boldly scolded her, " I don't have any business with you. Can't you see I am busy?"
"Inyang, it is me, your girlfriend, Eno!"She had shouted.
"I can see you. Yesterday is gone. "
Eno was about to collapse when hands whisked her away.
It took her quite sometime to recover from the shock. She was absent from lectures for almost one week, and wept most of the time. Friends and well-wishers encouraged her, and soon, she put the trauma behind her.

Akpan was traveling one Friday  afternoon in a bus, to meet his uncle who works in a bank in Uyo.

Beside him, sat Eno, who was busy with her phone, also traveling in a coaster bus. Akpan was reading a celebrity magazine, with the picture of Ike  Onyema and Mercy Eke posing on the cover page.

Occasionally, Akpan cast a furtive glance at Eno; quietly assessing her, to know if she was qualified for a talking to (t-t).

Just then, Eno turned to her right, and their eyes met. "Good afternoon," Eno greeted. "  Good afternoon", replied Akpan. "Can I have your magazine when you are done?" "You can have it; I am already through." "Thanks," greeted Eno, who took the magazine, and began to flip through. She was more interested in the pictures.

In a few minutes, she was done and handed over the magazine back to  Akpan.

Akpan was hurrying down the lecture hall when his eyes caught Eno, who was rushing to another lecture, so that she could secure a comfortable sit, or else, she would have to stand for one complete hour.

Two weeks later, Eno sat beside Akpan in the library as they prepared for their second semester exam.

Akpan was a third year student of electrical engineering department, while Eno was a final-year student of Laboratory technology.

After the second semester exam, Akpan and Eno were seen holding hands as they visited the Calabar zoo. They were also seen in the refectory eating together and chatting comfortably. They attended most campus events together. Everybody knew they were two of a kind--love birds.

Some weeks later, it was rumoured that a girl had turned to a fish in a male hostel, and that the girl was Ekaete, Inyang Okon Inyang's new girl friend.

As soon as the girl returned to a normal human being, she quickly left the male hostel, and fled the campus and never returned again.

Meanwhile, everybody in the room had fled, including Inyang, who was in a shock. When he came back to his senses, he quickly ran to a pastor for prayers and deliverance .

Meanwhile, Eno and her sympathisers laughed Inyang to scorn. Served him right.

Jude was at the Calabar-Itu Road, waiting for a vehicle, when suddenly his stomach began to ache. He quickly entered the bush to ease himself.

While he was about leaving the bush, he heard a rustling noise, as he turned to look, he saw a big snake heading towards the main road. Suddenly, the snake turned to a very beautiful lady, with a handbag, and stood beside the road.

Soon a  silver-coloured Sienna jeep  stopped and picked the lady and sped off along the road. Who knows how the situation could turn out for the lover boy.

Womanizers encounter a lot of ugly stories in life. Some womanizers would boast that if you have not been afflicted with STD, you have not started womanizing.

Five years later, Eno was on her way to the Abuja airport, when she sighted Akpan. They had all graduated and left the university. She was driving a Toyota Camry, while Akpan was trekking along  the road in dirty jeans, hungry and tired. She stopped abruptly and exchanged pleasantries with Akpan.

Akpan was still unemployed after his NYSC, whereas Eno was working in a general hospital in Abuja.

After listening to Akpan's lamentations, Eno assured him of a job, as her maternal uncle was a senator of the federal republic. "It was my  uncle, Senator Umoren Umoh Edem, who secured this lucrative job for me. In a few weeks' time, you will be working in an oil company. I don't make fake promises," Eno boasted."Trust me now."

"Have this", Eno handed him a wad of ₦20 000,  in ₦200 denominations , a with a very pleasant aroma. "Thanks a million times." "Give me a call; your problems are over."

Akpan thanked her profusely.

He was very happy as he moved along the busy  Abuja road, rejoicing. He has been praying for a breakthrough, and it seems God has answered his prayers. At least, he could change the broken screen of his handset, and  wear something new to the church on Sunday.

Three years later Akpan and Eno were joined together in a wedding ceremony that attracted all the dignatries of Abuja and beyond.

Since after the marriage, the couple has been frantically trying to have children. Men of God, and loved ones have advised them to relax since they are medically fit to have children, and still  young.

Eno, as a woman, has been very worried, seeking for spiritual help and also taking fertility herbs, procured by her worried mother.

Akpan gradually began to change in character and behaviour. He started keeping late nights, and gave a lot of excuses to cover up his odd behaviour.

He later became erratic, and would flare up at the slightest provocation.  Everything Eno did became an anathema, and a source of worry and provocation.

Above all, he stopped eating Eno's food, and told plenty lies as a cover up.

Whenever Eno opened up to search his heart, he always fired the first shot. "Every man needs an heir; no man can be happy without a successor. I need a son. Simple." With that signature tune, he left the house. He would n't even wait for his wife to say something.

"So, this is my reward for

picking you up from the gutters. I haboured you for six months; gave you a very lucrative job; bought  an expensive car, and  you reward me  by stabbing me in the back." "Please, have mercy... please forgive." Akpan knelt and kept pleading...it is the devil."

"For how long have we been married? Why can't you wait a little?"

"Time waits for no man" he countered. "But I thought you are born-again." " I don't need a sermon...it is five years we are married...my mother is making life unbearable for me."

At the count of ten... you are out of this house. You came with nothing; you will leave with nothing." "Please."  "Too late..."

Four hefty men entered the room and dragged him along. "You have to leave Abuja as quickly as possible, or my thugs will kill you, as unknown gunmen will be presumed to be responsible."

A whistle blower  had informed Eno that Akpan has a wife and a male child outside his marriage.

"Go And Sin No More."

Nkechi and Ikechukwu wedded in a colourful wedding ceremony, that attracted the cream of society. The marriage was a one-in-town wedding, that attracted the high and mighty in the town, and beyond. There was money to spend, and Ikechukwu spent  it without hesitation. Every person who attended the wedding went home with a very precious gift--handbags, stoves, handsets, pots, gas cookers etc. After their third child, six years later, Ike's fortune nose-dived to an abysmal low, and he lost his wealth, and began to beg bread. As a motor parts dealer, he was well-connected, and imported his goods from abroad. His friends were notable millionaires, known in Nigeria and beyond. The dwindling economic fortunes of Nigeria affected his business adversely, but what destroyed him completely was the emergency of a greedy governor, who pulled down many houses in the state capital, and sent many hardworking people to their early graves, and before he vacated the office, imposed an imbecile ...

Not God's Will For Us To Marry

The next academic year began in September, after the long vacation. I was still savouring the visit of Adeze as we resumed for the new session. I proudly told Nkechi that  my girlfriend visited me at Aba. When you eat an appetising food, you don't easily let the memory go away quickly. Nkechi did not enjoy the gist, but told me she loved me. I was surprised because she had a fiance. We became closer as the memory of Adeze soon evaporated, and she never visited again. There were no distractions, and so we gradually grew intimate. One thing led to another, and Nkechi called off her engagement with her lover, Mike. Nkechi is reserved and loved me whole heartedly, to the extent she tells me the ugly encounters she had occasionally with men.  When the then old Imo State government threatened to sack auxiliary teachers, I was forced to do my PGDE at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. In my absence , a medical doctor, her town's man, came around to sleep with her, but she rebuff...

Chinyere Swallowed Her Pride, And Begged Aham For Reconciliation

When Okezie was newly transferred to  Saint Theresa Academy, every body saw him as a saint, not knowing he was a serpent in a green grass. He was suave and handsome, and feigned been born-again, but ironically, refused all entreaties  to join the staff fellowship. Soon, his true colour appeared, as he was an unredeemable womanizer. He soon began sampling the female teachers, one by one, both married and single, until his unholy assignment was completed. Some of the female teachers, even fought one another, in a bid to have absolute dominion. But the fool was betrothed to one beautiful sister whom everybody cherished and admired. You would have wished the beautiful angel was either married to your son, or brother. After Okezie had done the traditional marriage, he had continued his escapades until the girl discovered he was not interested in getting married any soon.  His in-laws asked him to complete the marriage ritual, so that he could take home his bride, but th...
